These versions of Insight represent an older build of the software that was released between 2007 and 2020 that supported macOS, Windows, and Chrome OS devices. This version of Insight was retired with the release of Insight 11 in late 2021 and is no longer officially supported by Faronics.
Customers with perpetual licenses are still able to use the software, however it has not been tested on the latest releases of Windows 10, 11, or macOS. Additionally some of the plugins required for the proper operation of the software on machines running Google's Chrome OS or the Google Chrome browser are no longer able to function due to Google deprecating the use of Manifest V2 plugins for the Chrome browser.
There are no plans to update the plugins to support the newer Manifest V3 standards or to support updated versions of any operating system that was previously supported.
Customers are encouraged to update to the latest Insight 11 release as that version is a complete re-write of the product designed to better operate in ways that work with todays learning environments including situations where distance learning any BYOD device scenarios are more common.
Information about the Version 9 release is being retained here as a reference for customers who may still require it.
