Minor Updates & Security Patches
Minor operating system updates and security patches are generally safe to install while Deep Freeze Mac is installed on the operating system. Administrators should ensure that Deep Freeze is disabled prior to the install of the updates.
Major OS Updates
Major operating system updates, such as the update between macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and macOS 11 (Big Sur) can contain a large number of changes that can drastically impact the way that the operating system functions and how specific features of the system will respond to products that integrate tightly to the operating system.
Faronics recommends that customers hold off on updating to new major version releases until our own internal testing is completed with the official release of the operating system and a statement regarding support for the operating system is posted on our website.
