Deep Freeze 7.3 has been released. This version resolves a number of customer reported issues including improvements in the interaction between Faronics Core and Deep Freeze and the resolution of a BSOD on some workstations running Dell branded RAID controllers. A updated verison of Faronics Core has been released as well. This update, version 3.43, incorporates a number of improvements in our task handling process, a number of bugfixes, and a new feature that provides a real time indication of if a given workstation is online or offline. This update is reccomended for any customer using Faronics Core who is having any isseus with tasks not processing correctly, or who is having problems managing workstations due to tasks blocking each other. And finally we have released a updated version of Power Save for OSX. This update resoves a number of issues in communicating between the Core Server and the OSX Clients and is recomended for all customers running Power Save on thier OSX workstations. Release notes are viewable at the URL below:

This version adds no new features, but fixes nine issues:

• Resolved an issue where the word Estimated was used in some headings in Full Operation report on Japanese systems.
• Resolved an issue where the reports for Mac workstations were calculated using the Default Energy Consumption Profile even when the workstations had custom Energy Consumption Pro!le assigned. 
• Resolved an issue where an improper failure message was displayed if Faronics StorageSpace was not found during the Power Save Client installation. 
• Resolved an issue where the total number of workstations displayed in the reports for Custom Workstation Groups was incorrect. 
• Resolved an issue where Power Save could not export a Power Save Con!guration Template to an MST file. 
• Resolved an issue where Power Save used excessive system resources. 
• Resolved an issue where the Power Save noti!cation was displayed only once on the remote workstation if the remote user was different than the user already logged on to the workstation.
• Resolved an issue where the monitor comes online due to a keyboard and mouse activity, but the Last Event of Power Save still displays Monitor Off.
• Resolved an issue where an Exception Error was displayed under the Windows Event Viewer if the workstation sent an unknown event to Faronics Core Consol

This version fixes the following three issues:

• Resolved an issue where the status for other Faronics products was not updated on Faronics Core Console when Faronics System Profiler Enterprise was installed.
• Resolved an issue where Faronics System Profiler Enterprise was unable to save to an altered MyDocuments location on a network drive. (Case No: FND-807-59253)
• Resolved an issue where Detailed Inventory Report task was stuck in Active state when multiple tasks failed against multiple offline workstations at same time.

This version introduces a new feature where a user can "Initiate a New Whitelist Scan" on managed workstations from Faronics Core Console to re-scan, re-create and re-apply a Whitelist on computers where an Active Whitelist already exists.

Please note that this upgrade automatically reboots the workstations.

In addition to this four bugs were resolved:

• Resolved an issue where Anti-Executable was displayed as an Evaluation even when  the  proper license was applied. 
• Resolved an issue where Anti-Executable was not able to update license key using the AEC command. 
• Resolved an issue where the tasks remained active for a long time (up to 3 minutes) while executing an action on a workstation that did not have Anti-Executable installed. 
• Resolved an issue where the Temporary Execution Mode settings were not included when exporting the Anti-Executable configuration and importing it back

This version fixed a number of issues and adds support for Ubuntu 11.10 as a student, and adds some features to the OSX Teacher client to bring it closer to feature parity with the Windows Teacher client. The fixes introduced mainly center around the handling of Terminal Services users and Thin Client devices. The updated version of Insight can be downloaded via Faronics Labs for customers with active maintenance.

• Resolves an issue where drives that are marked to be thawed are instead frozen.

If you are having issues where your drives that are marked thawed show up as frozen in the product we recommend that you update to the latest version. The updated version of the software can be downloaded via Faronics Labs or from http://www.faronics.com

• Resolved an issue where empty row was created in tbl_LogExtaData table for every event
  from tbl_LogEvents table.
• Resolved an issue where a non-active task (for example, Shutdown) appears under Active
  node, in middle pane summary view Expiry and Remaining filled in.
• Resolved an issue of wrong alignment on Faronics Core installation page.
• Resolved an issue where no Power Save Information in Faronics Core Console. (Case No:
  IKX-905-29614)
• Resolved an SQL Deadlock issue. (Case No: KTL-434-17113 )
• Resolved an issue where Faronics Core Console lost connection to Faronics Core
• Database. The errors showed repeated .Net framework errors and SQL deadlocks. (Case
  No: USN-283-45180)
• Resolved an SQL deadlock issue and Faronics Anti-Virus update issues. (Case No: FJD-
  544-50130 )
• Resolved an issue where Workstation Clients were not showing up in Faronics Core
  Console after upgrade. (Case No: ISA-317-62878)
• Resolved an issue where try-catch for rollback-address cannot rollback deadlock
  protection.
• Resolved an issue where occasionally a Foreign Key exception appeared in Event Viewer
  when workstations report events to Faronics Core Server.
• Resolved an issue where occasionally a Primary Key exception appeared in Event Viewer
  when workstations report events to Faronics Core Server.

Customers who have been affected by any of these issues are reccomended to udpate to the 3.41 release.

This is a maintinance release that resolves a number of issues, including:

• Resolved issues where students logging into nComputing x300 devices may not be visible.
• Resolved issues where all students on a given subnet may not be visible.
• Resolved issues with web limiting in Google Chrome & Internet Explorer.

Any customer having issues similar to those above is reccomended to update to the latest version of Faronics Insight.

The updated version of WINSelect resolves the following four customer issues:

• Resolved issue that could cause the inability to save a document to a USB thumb drive from Microsoft Word.
• Resolved issue that could prevent some websites from opening properly when using Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.
• Windows 7 only: Resolved issue that could prevent some 16-bit applications from running correctly.
• Resolved issue that could prevent UAC from functioning as expected in an administrator account.

Customers who have open cases on these issues should be getting a note from the support team shortly to follow up on these issues.

The issues resolved include:

• 1212 Resolved issue where after upgrading a Loadin or switching to Faronics Core Server with different Loadin version, the installed Loadin information does not appear on welcome page unless Faronics Core Console is restarted.
• 1245 Resolved an issue where an error message is displayed when Faronics Core Agent in uninstalled and the workstation is rebooting. This occurred only if the System Restore option was enabled on Windows XP.
• 1515 Resolved issue where uninstalling Faronics Core Agent (with storage space in use) from Faronics Core Console is successful after upgrading to higher version of Faronics Core Agent with defer reboot.
• 1523 Resolved issue where the deadlock message appeared in Even Viewer when numerous workstations were trying to report back after all the workstations had been rebooted at the same time.
• 1635 Resolved an issue where the workstation under Static Custom Workstation Group did not disappear from group when it was now being managed by another console.
• 1644 Resolved issue of MMC snap-in unavailable error when Actions allowed to run on Faronics Core Server is set to none and an attempt is made to push and install Faronics Core Agent on server via console.

• 1768 On Windows Server 2008 R2: Resolved issue where an error message is displayed, if IIS is not installed before turning on WOL feature (ASP components must be added manually through Server roles and IIS must be restarted). (Case No: CXW-371-57634)
• 1790 Resolved issue where Product Version value in database is not updated during Faronics Core or Loadin upgrade.
• 1808 Resolved issue where if XML has timestamp as 10/10/1601 ( possible battery on machine is down and BIOS has initial time) SQL server cannot handle it and displaying an exception.
• 1826 Resolved issue where the LDAP domain under LDAP connection was case sensitive.
• 1914 Resolved issue where after installing Faronics Core Agent, namespace or classes disappear and Core Agent service cannot start up (error 2727 sometimes observed).

 As well Power Save 4.4 is now available from the usual download locations. This update introduces compatibility with the reporting database introduced in Core 3.35 and resolves a few issues including:

• 733. Resolved an issue where an empty Power Save folder was created under Faronics StorageSpace and a Power Save registry entry was created while trying to install Power Save client on a Server Operating System.
• 740. Resolved issue where the Power Save settings was not applied when the users logged off (Windows Power Options not overridden by Power Save when no user logged on). (Case No: NQE-614-25744)
• 748. Resolved issue where incorrect status was displayed after applying configuration to expired Power Save workstation.
• 751. Resolved issue where multiple message boxes were displayed while trying to open the Configure Power Save dialog.
• 752. Resolved issue where Power Save remained in Restart Required mode even after system restart.
• 754. Resolved issue where the Power Save folder was created under Faronics StorageSpace even when the installation process was cancelled and it was not possible to uninstall Faronics Core Agent.
• 757. Resolved issue when Power Save was in deferred mode for 2 hours and on reducing local wake-up time to 1 hour from Faronics Core Console, the deferred mode resumed and Power Save went to Full Mode.
• 758. Resolved issue where the Power Save password was removed while updating the password.
• 765. Resolved issue were, if multiple users were logged in and Power Save was uninstalled, an empty Power Save folder remained under the Faronics StorageSpace folder.

• Windows XP Spanish only: Resolved issue where an invalid character was displayed in the Task History description message for install and uninstall action.

• Resolved issue where the volume on the system tray does not work with a right or a left click.
• Adobe Reader 10.x only: Resolved issue where the Adobe Reader could be closed, minimized or resized in Kiosk mode.
• Resolved issue where there was no sound or Windows Media Player video file when WINSelect was enabled on Windows XP.
• Resolved issue where Windows Explorer crashed when copying files from a drive after it is disabled in Drives and Extensions tab.
• Resolved issue where command prompt will be disabled was present in the user guide which had to be removed.
